Yes, they are pretty good but it's a little fruit with a big pit/seed.

Indian Plum sounds like something I might try planting here given we may be headed toward a wetter climate here in the Northeast. Do you eat the fruits?

Yes, Indian Plum is in full bloom here in Western WA due to the early wam weather. I have not seen the stinging nettles yet. I will have to check my local patch again tomorrow. I have also seen the first blooms of salmonberry!

My fiance and I are in the Top 5 (out of 50) in a contest to win a free Green Wedding. We're hoping wilderness awareness folks will support this cause by voting online at the link below. It only takes 10 seconds, so please pass it on if you like what you see. Voting ends February 9th.

Please vote for people who are making a difference for the environment. We're environmental educators at White Pine Programs.

Thanks so much for reading, voting, & passing it on.

I am so excited to find this site and find so many avenues within it I can relate to.
Someone asked about earache stuff. I pick fresh mullein flowers and steep them about 14 days in olive oil in the sun. Just use a coffee filter for a lid to keep bugs etc out - don't seal a lid or it could explode. Anyway mullein oil is good for earaches but what is even better is a combination of mullein oil and garlic oil. to make garlic oil you just steep peeled garlic cloves in olive oil but keep this in the refrigerator so it doesn't turn rancid.
To treat - it is recommended that you treat both ears for a period of 6 days. Put cotton in to keep the oil from dripping out. The reason you treat both ears is that infection can spread from one to the other so you might as well treat them both at once and shorten the duration.

someone else asked where do you learn this stuff? I have been taking a course in herbalism through the School of Natural Healing but there are also lots of herbalist websites who post a lot of free info about the healing herbs. It is a fascinating course of study.

Jacob, Which way are you going? Can you post a map of your expected route as a photo on your page here? And where are you starting from in MD?

Hello everyone! I am planning a hiking trip from MD to AK. Where would i find an accurate source of info. regarding the Native plants in the regions i will pass through on my journey?

This site leads to the information you are asking for, but I'm not sure that's what you need. There are several hypotheses about phylogentic order of plant families:. http://botany.csdl.tamu.edu/FLORA/newgate/cronang.htm

Would anyone be able to refer me to a list of Angiosperms (Wildflowers) in Phylogentic Order? I have searched on Google but have not found what I need.
