Jon Young many times says it is the quality of experience, not the quantity that counts. Of course, both is best!. Others have said that one of the most important ingredients in making Kamana successful for any given individual is to somehow make it…

I'm also in Kamana 1 ..still. And like you, James, I have a little girl (and another child on the way) so time is tight. Most weeks I only make it out to my sit spot on Sunday, but I spend several hours. And like both of you I spend a lotta time wan…

James! Thanks for your thoughts. I'm still on Kamana 1, and probably will be for a while. I'm kinda slow with things. I've had the same trouble with the sit spot. I always wanted to wander around first, and didn't usually have a lot of time to do…

I am starting to collect a fair few feathers. I would love to know the best way to display them in order to learn from them. I find it very hard to identify them and if I put them in one vase they get a bit lost. Does anyone have any method they hav…

Great story!! One of my friends who teaches with me helped a boy get his bike over the bike fence because a key couldn't be found only to learn later the boy was stealing the bike. It takes some mindfulness and awareness to get good at this stuff. H…

I recognize the importance of developing this skill of noting details altho' I have never been very good at it. I forget things rather easily. Several years ago I got my mower stuck in the ditch out by the road and set off on foot to my neighbor's h…

Hi, is poison ivy really that bad? We don't have it in Australia. It must be thick!! Are you allowed to thin it out? or is it a protected native? Can you dig it out in the winter or is it too connected to the wellbeing of other creatures? It is pret…

K2.1

Being married with young children means I need to be very effective with my time. It takes me about 15 minutes to get to my sit spot, however because I am so curious it often takes me longer. Someone mentioned that you can learn so much just from your walk in and I agree. I pass over an open sandy section and I always try and see who has been coming and going. I have had to kill many march/horse flies unfortunately. I do wonder about how others feel about killing non-native species that have bec… Continue

Frog eats brown tree snake

Caught this on the news. So looked up the photos and thought someone else might find this interesting. This is a green tree frog turning the tables and eating a brown tree snake. Another amazing thing is that three other green tree frogs sat around and watched. Some type of old karma unwinding itself...

Kamana One Day Thirteen

Well how about that, practically finished.

I just received Kamana for kids, all four books. That must mean I got something out of this great course that I want to pass on to others. But o how so far I have to go!

Of all the things I received from Kamana One the one that does the most for me is getting me out in the bush. My motivation to 'get wild' has become part of me. Feeling stressed and disconnected, I am off and up a sand hill to rest my butt on mother earth and my back agains a she oak.… Continue

Kamana One Day Seven

Talbotts game. What a great, difficult game! I'm really quite bad at it. I've realised I am not a details man. I noticed yesterday my wife had new bikinis. She told me she has had them for a few weeks. ooppps. I certainly know where I need to really improve! Playing details game I went and got a box and made a details game box. I put stones, clips, marbles, feathers, dice, pens, etc in clip lock bags. I can easily close my eyes and dig in and grab five or six pieces to test myself with. I'm goin… Continue

James Where are you in Australia? And please, blog some notes as you move through the K1, they don't have to be long. What parts best complement your VQ needs?
